Phoenix Business Growth Consultant: ‘AI is not meant to replace people… it’s meant to help us be better’

Phoenix founder Robbie Prochnow said his company, Zen Aegis, was built to help business owners regain momentum and clarity after he emerged from a four-year battle with cancer and reevaluated how he could make an impact.

“I was like, hey, am I doing everything I can possible with a second chance at life to make an impact for business owners?” Prochnow said on the Phoenix Business Brief Podcast.

“That’s what inspired me to found Zen Aegis.”

Prochnow said the firm partners with small and mid-sized businesses to lead growth initiatives across marketing, sales, operations, and technology without requiring equity or full-time executive hires. He described the model as a hands-on alternative to traditional consulting, focused on execution and measurable outcomes.

“We partner with business owners… to own specific growth initiatives,” he said. “They don’t give us equity. We don’t ask for a full-time salary… we go give them that advantage that they’ve never had.”

A core component of that advantage, Prochnow said, is the use of artificial intelligence to scale operations while improving quality of life for teams.

“AI is not meant to replace somebody… it’s meant to help us be better,” he said. “How can I use AI today to give me more time with my wife and family?”

Prochnow said many business owners struggle not just with strategy but with isolation and decision fatigue, which can stall growth.

“Sometimes the impact that I have in just 30 days is just that people don’t feel alone,” he said. “So many things get left unfinished and then they pile up.”

He emphasized that success goes beyond revenue metrics, pointing to emotional clarity and team alignment as key indicators.

“Do you feel better? Do you feel like you have that time back?” Prochnow said. “Are the people happier? Do they feel the impact and the confidence in where the company’s going?”

Prochnow said his experience with cancer shaped his approach to leadership and business discipline.

“My mission was the same every day that cancer wasn’t gonna overtake my life,” he said. “If you’re rooted in that why… anything’s possible.”
